Failed before it started

I tried to make a "community ammendment" about having laptops here. I had it written and was collecting needed signatures when I was shot down by two residents. They made everything I had done, the work I had put in to make sure it was well worded, detailed while still slightly vauge, and pointing out everything good and minimizing problems and occasionally proposing solutions to them, seem like nothing. Like a waste of everyone's time. They said it would never get passed so why was I doing it? One of them had signed my paper. It felt horrible. I worked so hard. They made me feel like such dirt... I try to do something and it always gets shot down here...always.
